Hello, there! My name is Katie. It’s great of you to stop by for some recipes.

I love all soups, stews, and chowders. I always have. My passion for soup was likely passed down from my late mother, whom I recall telling me stories about how she was teased endlessly as a child for wanting to eat soup 3 meals/day, 7 days/week.

Very much like herself, growing up, all I wanted was soup. I ate soup for 7:30AM breakfast most mornings throughout middle school and high school and I remember being completely satisfied by this bizarre school morning routine.

Though I’ve now mostly grown out of my soup-for-breakfast rituals , I still get excited about eating soup and admittedly it is very often the first meal of the day I’ll eat if I haven’t gotten to breakfast that day.

I introduce to you some recipes I’ve created, or tweaked to my own liking. Soups that will warm your bones throughout the long and dreary winter.

Many recipes you will find here are suited to a low-carbohydrate lifestyle. Carbs are not so kind to everyone, you see, so I’ve had to completely alter my eating habits recently in order to maintain weight and general well-being.

As an ex-vegetarian, cooking and eating meat-free once in a while is also something that is important to me. You will find many vegetarian and some vegan recipes spliced throughout. Check out my vegetarian section in the Soup Recipe Index up top.

What started as primarily a soup blog has expanded a bit to include side dishes and snacks to pair with soups. Though, admittedly, for some recipes it would be a bit of a stretch to call them soup-related.

Most of these recipes will serve four to six people, sometimes less if you prefer an extra large helping like I do.

If you try out a recipe, let me know in the comments!
